Jim Callaghan, Labour PM said back in the 70's. Tax and spend as much as it ever worked, never worked. We now have the highest taxes in british history and a million unemployed young people with a soaring benefits bill. It's no coincidence, Labour never learn.

It would be nice to scrap council tax but can't see it happening.

£45 is an insult to us taxpayers especially when Judas has no mandate

"we are going to cut your taxes", then once he looks at the finance and notice it's not sustainable, "we will cut welfare programs and raise taxes"

A government that created the cost of living crisis, is now offering to help? Can't wait to spend the 86p pet week! It's just another insult to the electorate!
@
This will amount to £45 pa reduction for the electricity which will be wiped out by the increase which will happen in October! How about scrapping of the standing charges?
@
Hasn't he resigned yet !.

You can tell, that this is Andys word versus a bunch of people that do not advocate, or want, anything that he is saying,

Why then, did he put so many of these poorly disguised torys into his cabinet?

OK, So when our new Chancellor ( who is probably the best of them) is forced to stand up, in two weeks time, and say there's a 75 Billion black hole and it's all the fault of Maggie Thatcher and the last Conservative government and Taxes must rise as a result to create head room and all the benefits go up and the wages go down then we will see a two tier cost of living crisis.
@
Need a cut on service charges on fuel bills.

So not the government of returning basic human rights then. Another 'look here, not over there' UK governemnt. How wonderfully tedious.
@
