No matter what we think , this is still a step forward. We can now easily justify our top 4 world ranking and are widely regarded as one of the best teams in the world , how often have we been able to say that in the last 50 odd years ? Let's get real and build on this improvement.
@
France started playing football in minute 46 and won the second half 4:2 - This should not be forgotten when praising the first half performance.
@
Oh the arrogance. 2nd best result overall, best result on foriegn soil & you still not feeling good?
Asif England would have had a chance vs this Spain anyway. But sure use Tuchel as a scapegoat, fire him & get Pep. He will then win EVERY tournament 100% and everything will be okay
@
Without Tuchel, the 3 Lions would have been knocked out in Round 32 (Congo), his 2 subs to his wide man lead England won 2-1, then his master stroke against Mexico led the team held on to a 3-2 victory, no other England managers would have done the same tactical nuances. Yes he made a mistake employing the same mexico tactics against Argentina with the GOAT inspired and 2 moments of brilliance led to the Lions lost, yes, the loss was a hard pill to swallow which the Tuchel and his teams are still digesting and hurting now. Whoever demands for Tuchel's head is the clown and knows nuts about football. I am sure the pundits here given England's uncertainty before this tournament anything QF and above would consider a success. Therefore I am the one will back Tuchel 100% until the 2028 Euro
@
Exactly, if Tuchel had only admitted it was his fault, I would have more respect! Please, please get Pep!

Dean Henderson has a high football IQ.

All you pundits are typical bandwagon riders. The players were responsible given the winnings position they were in. Kane and Bellingham, the world class players, shut down, switched off when they should have stood strong. Typical English media, sing their praises when England won, but it's 99% the managers fault when England flopped.

45 other Teams would give their right arms for that Bronze.

18:50: Scoggins saying that Tuchel should have apologised: it isn't a German trait to instantly apologise - this is what an Englishman would do, but Tuchel isn't English. Tuchel laid down his thinking and explained why he had decided to do what and it didn't work - he simply does not engage in the English blame game and culture of apologising, he does not even say 'unfortunately', because he's not English, he's German. Call Germans rude, or unapologetic or stubborn, but that's where cultures differ and the bottom line is that Tuchel acted in good faith.

The media (these clowns included) always get so touchy when a manager pushes back on them.

We beat France one of the two best sides in the world. That is a positive.
@
Takes a lot of courage and maturity to publicly admit a mistake. To take full ownership. Surprising to me that some world-class managers aren‘t able to do that yet.
@
I think you guys should go for the job. Seems you got it figured out🙏🏿😅
@
I think this game is physchologicaly good for the England players. The next game is also Spain in nations league. These stats against the top 2 ranked teams will be good for the belief even if they are friendly or whatever.
@
Problem is peoples expectations are set to high. My expectation is to finish at least in Semi's as results show that previously. My want and hope is to win the world cup.
@
Pep? Where has he won without backing with loads of money and world class talents. In club football, you can go and buy any player, in nations football, that option does not exist. A true assessment of Pep - is the number of English players he was able to propel upwards in Man city. None. That is what he can achieve with the 3 lions.
@
England was only 6 mins + added time away from the world cup final. The tactics is flawed because it did not work out well in the end. Football can steer up emotion, unfortunately for the losing side, its the wrong emotions. But there are a lot of positives from this tournament for England. Chin up guys, the future is bright !!!

This is the problem about England. You think you are the best to start with. The only thing you need is a decent average manager and voila England becomes world champions. Thus you become disappointed every time, and you never find anything positive to build on for the future.

6:48 he could not have done that against Argentina. The game changers were already on the pitch and were the primarily reason the team was boxed in
@
What are people on? Best world cup finish since 1966, and the English people want the manager fired.
There isn't a better manager available anywhere in the world now.
Everyone needs to take a chill pill and stop the negativity.
@
Expectations have lead to a bit more negativity than necessary. Take the positives too. When Tuchel first picked the squad no one thought they’d be good enough to make 3rd place. Crushing lost to Arg but they’ve won it in recent times whilst Eng haven’t.
@
Hearing much of this feedback, I can’t help thinking that Tuchel would have fared better if he’d engineered a defeat.
@
The fact that 3rd place is the best WC finish in 60 years says it all about England. England is not a European powerhouse. In fact England are at Croatia's level. Even Croatia got 2nd place in 2018. If England have reached WC final as easy as France or Argentina or Spain, there is nothing to lose about throwing away a chance to reach a final. England tried to protect the lead because if they hadnt, it would be regretable if the chance had gone. For France, Spain or Argentina reaching a WC semi is not an achievement , it's a minimum expectation. England have reached 11 WC quarter-final but only managed 4 semis and 1 final. The quality is not there. England have never won a knockout/deciding match against bigger teams except today that they won over France.
@
Absolute proof that ridiculous line ups ie 4,2,3,1 need to stop.
@
really!!! playing Argentina vs playing France, which was the game with NO defence or pressure & saying all this about why Saka should've played!?
@
47 teams will leave this tournament having not won it. It’s just not all of them have the same false sense of entitlement that England do.

Finished 3rd of 48 teams. Proud of the players.

The attitude of these podcasters stinks. Won’t be coming back.

Well done England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
@
The first manager to take england to the semis since Alf Ramsay, and the mob are calling for his sacking. God help us.
@
But European football needs magicians on the pitch to make that boring football system effective.

I have been following England since 1982, they only have a good run in international football after Southgate took over till now. The issue is English expectations and its media, England now can be considered as a serious contender in international football but as TT said there's a small gap with Spain, France and Argentina. TT may have made calls that didn't lead to the desired result but give him a chance as he is a manager with strong conviction. Let's see what he will do in Euro Nation League.
