Think it’s quite simple, play a fast high tempo Premier league style with intensity. In most world cups this is impossible because of the intense heat and humidity draining energy levels. However England have been given a massive advantage playing in a cool air conditioned stadium. So expect England to play in a similiar fashion to the performance against Croatia. Messi would prefer a slow walking pace game and he won’t like quicker athletes around him constantly closing him down not allowing time and space. Expect the players to suddenly look fitter and stronger, confident England will win but the final is in New York (which doesn’t have air con) so England have no chance against France and will be slight outsiders against Spain.

I think England need to vary their attacking chances, not just try going for perfect close range attempts from crosses into box but also go for long range efforts into the corners or driven shots outside. This almost worked for Norway twice and got Jude his end after a spilled save from a player who took a chance from outside. Mix it up.

I swear at the start of the tournament they were only var checking 2nd yellows and not the 1st? This tournament has been a bit of a shambles referee wise

Djwd Spence is such a great quality. I love the runs he made which was a clean penalty but VAR chuck it off another unfair call on England.

I have tried to see how Argentina can beat England but no way, England is way better and stronger than Argentina in this tournament and the past three games has shown Argentina can be beating and they showed their weaknesses against Egypt, Cape Verde and Switzerland. If they continue with this performance against a great quality side like England, they will get punished severely.

England to beat Argentina 3 -1

What does he mean that the England performance hasn't been that great? Why do the British media and pundits and journalists like throwing the England teams under the bus?

It's called the world cup mate and it's not a rollercoaster ride, some days you will show better qualities than others because you're playing with different teams that have different style of play and sometimes you have to wait for your moment and take them and England has been doing so far.

We have beating Croatia 4-2, beat Mexico in their own back yard 3-2, and then Norway 2-1, please stop this criticism right now. The lads don't deserve this. Get behind them no

Gable Gabriel Clark is a disgrace. Just trying to cause dissent in the England team

Although England defend compactly, their greatest vulnerability often appears during defensive transitions, particularly around their advancing full-backs.

Although Harry Kane remains England's captain and primary goalscorer, the most influential player in England's current tactical system is Jude Bellingham.
Unlike traditional attacking midfielders, Bellingham constantly alternates between deeper build-up responsibilities and explosive forward runs. He frequently arrives late into the penalty area, attacks second balls, and creates numerical superiority through his physicality and timing.
By denying Bellingham space between the lines, Argentina would significantly reduce England's capacity to progress centrally and force them toward wide areas into longer passes toward Harry Kane, which will face Romero and Lisandro Martínez to compete aerially. this will deny England to build patiently through midfield, a rhythm they preffered

Go England, all the way! For the first time ever, I will root for you with all my heart. Then them home, you can absolutely do it, no question!

VAR use at this World Cup had veered into re-refereeing the match in real time. Many of the re-decisions aren’t clear and obvious errors.

I enjoyed that opener more than the game.

Huge Respect for England, Argentina has been playing very subpar futbol but somehow managed to make it this far. They are slow, tired and running out of steam, however they have experience and their mentality and resiliency is their best and believe it or not they are now on a streak of 15 consecutive knockout matches on the big stage going all the way back to Copa America 2019! (last lost was against Brazil in semis). One day it will obviously end, but they will put a fight for sure.

Can England overcome and beat the defending champions? I think they can. Can the England squad maintain a lead against Argentina, as so many teams have fallen victim to their incredible comebacks in this World Cup? Can they stop the legendary Lionel Messi? Can Thomas Tuchel do it again? Can England overcome Argentina’s tactics, or will history repeat itself with another moment as infamous as the “Hand of God”?

If they can overcome all of that, then England will win.

Gabriel Clarke was really unfair to put that all to Jude, post match. It's not helpful to the cause either.
@
The main issue is our media trying to stir some gossip, tuchel heavily praised the effort and mentality but said he wasn’t happy with the tactical performance. Gabriel Clark then put it to Bellingham as if tuchel had said it was a bad performance overall - why do we try to shoot ourselves in the foot??
@
"We're trying to create a positive environment, we should keep doing that" is a really HR kind of thing to say from Jude.
@
Love Jude, but this is classic English media. One minute he’s “arrogant” with an ego problem, the next he’s the best midfielder to ever kick a ball. Then he has one quiet game and they’re back to cooking him again.
@
Tuchel in my opinion is absolutely right. Although the team is showing great mentality, moments with Bellingham etc... they are not connecting as well as you would think they could. You would think with the players they have, they could start to play more fluently like France . England fans should be inspired and appreciative of Tuchel pushing them to greater levels

I don't think people realise what its like to play in 40 degree heat with high humidity too, its totally brutal. Haaland had to come off. Even Kane said the conditions were really hard, tougher than Mexico.

Uhmm, I think Djed Spence deserves a mention after that match, it was like he had woken up and realised he was important or something. Amazing game from him
