England’s World Cup dream is over after a heartbreaking 2-1 semi-final defeat to Argentina, and England legend & SunSport columnist Kyle Walker joins Proper Football Daily exclusively to explain where
It was a hard watch, like watching a slow motion train crash. Everyone new what was going to happen, no way you can let an opposition like Argentina have the ball so long without conceding.
England lost because of pure overconfidence and the delusion that they were the better side when they clearly weren’t. Going completely defensive at 1-0 didn't stop Argentina from attacking—it just invited pressure and made it inevitable they’d score more. These players looked like a disconnected group of club players rather than a cohesive country, and at the end of the day, Argentina simply wanted it more and hungrier !
From Argentina I want to send a big hug to all of you in England. I think you only needed to believe it more... Seems like after the goal you got scared. The couch call on defend didn't pay off but thats football! Always great to play against you!!!
Kane and Bellingham did not get a single shot on goal. England's midfield was overrun and dog tired. England's collapse was always on the books.
That's what Argentina did with faster play, width, possession, and ball movement. Simply put, Argentina was superior.
Having 12% of the ball after the first goal scored is diabolical 😂
