Is Anna drunk?
@
Why would you make Millibrain chancellor ?
@
Milliband is a Jew, you don't give a Jew access to cash disbursements, never, ever !!
@
Who cares what the left want ? They want to get a Time Machine back to the 70s !
@
The guy is a fool , I wouldn’t let him play with matches !
@
The left may well be disappointed, sane people will not be. Minibrain should not be anywhere near government.
@
They will all be racing to the dole queue soon

Under Starmer, Milliband was the tail that was wagging the dog. In my opinion, he is a mad ideologue who represents Labour but wouldn’t know a hard days Labour if it landed on his head. Giving this idiot the keys to number eleven would be an absolutely fatal mistake for the country and for Labour. Judging by his blank refusal to Starmer & Reeves to row back (even slightly) on net zero, he obviously believes that he can dictate to government. Apparently he is hugely popular amongst Labour members but he is a trouble maker and Burnham would do well to sideline him.
@
And the nation will be 'doomed', if Miliband is Chancellor of the exchequer...
@
If you want an incompetent Chancellor then Milleband is a good choice . He's ruined the energy status of this country so why not try the "adding up" department? David can't you find something for your brother to do in Trumptown?
@
MILIBAND SHOULD NOT BE A CHANCELER.
@
And far more people will be relieved if Miliband isn’t made chancellor.
@
Miliband will most like raise taxes and expand net zero making us poorer.
@
I think you will find the general public will be delighted if Ed Millerband 'does not' become Chancellor. Re edit your reporting to tell the truth.
@
Better if the headline was "Race to the unemployment office".
@
No. No we won't be disappointed if Miliband isn't chancellor.
@
I can't remember in any general election the public being asked - do you want neo liberalism or not? Neo liberalism is disguised in promises not kept - so the Times here are just raising a silly question. If you asked the public whether wealth and not work should be taxed - I suspect a majority would vote for that - especially if that meant billionaires who show up on the rich list but not on the who pays the most tax list - were targetted
@
The Times is left wing garbage nowadays
@
Burnham is a hypocrite with no mandate. He’s going to be even worse than Starmer.

I have no faith in any party that thinks Ed Milliband as chancellor is a good idea. It's beyond stupid; look at what he did to the party as leader and look what he's done as energy minister - he's been a disaster.

It's so interesting to see the internal dynamics playing out here! Regardless of who gets the role, I'm hopeful that we'll see some fresh energy and positive changes in how the economy is handled. Fingers crossed for a team that can really deliver for everyone.

Good morning, everyone. Settling in with my tea and listening to Anna's take on the tension surrounding the Chancellor appointment. It's fascinating how much anticipation there is for Ed Miliband specifically. Do you think he's the right choice for the role, or is someone else better suited?
