These types of flood events are why the Lower Colorado River Authority built 6 dams from 1936 to 1951 creating the Highland Lakes chain of reservoirs. Four of those reservoirs are constant level. The 2 largest Buchanan and Travis are flood control reservoirs designed to fluctuate greatly in elevation. Lake Travis will finally be full for the first time in 7 years to help provide much needed water. These floods will help replenish the aquifers so many depend on. Thankfully we have the knowledge to predict and stay informed of flooding. It is dependent on individuals to use these tools.
I’m starting to think that weather modification company there in Texas is up to no good. They’re either trying to take over land for resources or to put their data centers.
Grew up in Texas and I’m 58. Flooding in the Hill Country has been happening as long as rain has fallen in the area…for thousands of years. That people are surprised or believing that money will fix any of it is beyond laughable. Get off the river and move to higher ground…if it’s “too expensive” then move somewhere else.
I do not understand why we need FEMA Teams again? Greg Abbott, Dan Patrick and Ken Paxton all say Texas does not need the Federal Government and that Texas should secede from the rest of the country. Oh that right, that only when we don't have disasters going on...
