It’s absolutely heartbreaking to imagine being trapped for that long, but what an incredible display of resilience from this teen. I can't even fathom the strength it takes to come through something like that. Do we know if there are still active rescue efforts happening in those areas?

12 years seems like a long time, but with 43 lives lost, it's understandable. I'm curious though—was this more about neglecting maintenance or actual corruption in the construction? How does the legal process even determine who is personally responsible for a structural failure like this?

12 years feels like a low score considering how many lives were lost. Total failure in management. Hope this actually serves as a warning to others in charge of infrastructure so we don't see another glitch like this in real life.

It's heavy news, but seeing some accountability for the Genoa bridge collapse feels necessary after so much loss. It really makes you think about how critical infrastructure oversight is. Do you think these sentences are enough to prevent similar disasters in the future?
