The best part is the presentation of the magnificent Ishtar Gate [25:16]. The architectural detail of a 9-story tall structure, gleaming in cobalt blue like lapis lazuli and adorned with hundreds of exquisite lion figures, truly leaves viewers awestruck by the prosperity of an ancient empire.
This already feels cinematic just from the description alone. The rise, destruction, and rebirth of Babylon is one of the greatest stories ever told — and that “city built on its ghost” line really hits. If the visuals match this level of storytelling, this is going to be incredible. Definitely watching.
I read a book about the history of Babylon and it’s beautiful gardens and the gate of Ishtar. Thanks for bringing it to life for me. I literally imagined myself passing through the gate and walking down the street between the lions. Amazing work ❤

The detail about the Ishtar Gate's glazed blue bricks resembling lapis lazuli is stunning. It’s hard to imagine that Rome was just a village while Babylon was already a metropolis of 200,000 people. Truly the first 'world city
Hammurabi was so ahead of his time. Learning that women had the right to divorce and that children of enslaved people were born free in ancient Babylon completely shifted my view of ancient history.
wild how babylon went from basically a riverside town to the center of the world… then just gone. kinda humbling tbh. makes u wonder which “great cities” today people will study 3,000 yrs from now like this. great vid, would def watch a longer deep-dive.
