"I love the way you bring these forgotten eras to life—it's like an 'execution guide' to the past. It’s incredible to think how much human knowledge has been hidden from us for 4,000 years. How would you suggest we better integrate these 'lost lessons' into our modern understanding of how to build and maintain sustainable societal systems? Keep up the fantastic work!"
I grew up in Montana in the 80s and 90s. We learned all about our local and world history very thoroughly, but at an age that it is so hard to remember it all. I have always sought out reading and now all these good AI videos bring it all back.
The Sumerians gave humanity cities, writing, mathematics, law, and the very foundations of civilization itself… yet their incredible story remained buried beneath the sands of Mesopotamia for thousands of years. Truly an amazing documentary with fascinating explanations, stunning visuals, and deeply engaging storytelling from start to finish.
I genuinely enjoyed learning about the rise of the world’s first civilization, from the invention of cuneiform and irrigation systems to the powerful empires of Sargon and the mysteries of the Death Pits of Ur.
Thank you for sharing such wonderful and informative content with us — this is the kind of history documentary that deserves far more recognition!!! 👏👏👏👏👏🤝💯💯💯
Forgotten civilizations are fascinating because they remind us how much of human history is still buried, misunderstood, or waiting to be rediscovered. A world can disappear for 4,000 years, but the traces it leaves behind can still change how we understand the past.
This is a masterclass in historical storytelling. It’s incredible to see how a civilization with no stone or timber engineered the very blueprint of our modern world. Most people ignore that our 60-minute hour and 360-degree circles are a 5,000-year-old Sumerian legacy.
The transition from dry accounting to Enheduanna’s poetic voice is a powerful narrative touch. It’s haunting that they vanished so completely, yet their ‘hidden’ ideas remain immortal.
High-quality content like this truly brings the ancient world back to life. Absolutely brilliant, deeply educational, and masterfully executed. Outstanding!
We don't know if this was the first civilisation in the world because there might be yet another one buried beneath the earth or the sand or the sea that we haven't yet discovered. Pre-history is based on archaeology (and sometimes folk memory - or myth). This is what has been discovered 'so far'; there could be stuff buried even deeper - or completely erased, so that we may never know.
ngl I knew basically nothing about the Sumerians before this, but this is actually insane… imagine inventing writing, math, cities, law, and even beer, then somehow getting almost erased from mainstream history. the part that gets me is how a civilization built so much with just mud, reeds, and raw human brainpower. this really makes you realize how much of the modern world started way earlier than most of us think.
"It’s mind-blowing to think that the foundation of almost everything we use today, from writing to law, started with people who had nothing but clay and reeds. Great job bringing this history back from oblivion."
It’s incredible how an entire civilization could remain hidden or forgotten for nearly 4,000 years. Discoveries like this remind us how much history is still waiting to be uncovered. Truly fascinating! 🏺
