Conservative London Assembly chair Andrew Boff says he lost access to his savings, direct debits and cash card after spending £36 in Ukraine. HSBC claimed
Absolutely ridiculous. Imagine trying to do some genuine good on an aid trip only to be locked out of your own life savings over a tiny transaction. It feels like these automated systems have completely lost the plot. Does anyone else have experience with this? I'd be terrified to travel anywhere now. What do you reckon?

All that for thirty-six quid? Absolute madness. You’d think they’d have better triggers than that, especially for someone on an aid trip. I’ve had my card flagged just for buying a slightly expensive dinner in a different city, but getting totally debanked is a whole other level of incompetence. Cheers for the help, HSBC!

This is absolute madness. Imagine getting your account banned over a tiny transaction like that? It is like hitting an invisible wall right before the boss fight. HSBC really just reset his progress to zero for no reason. Total glitch in the system. Who actually approves this logic? My streak of trusting banks is broken.

Absolutely mental that spending a few quid on an aid trip triggers a total lockout. You'd think they'd have more common sense than that! Imagine being cut off from your own savings just for helping out. Is anyone else having nightmares with their bank lately? Who do we even trust with our cash these days?
