US President Donald Trump has imposed a 50% tariff on a wide range of goods imported from Canada, in retaliation for what he called "unequal treatment" of US cars, dairy and alcohol.
I don't think that Trump and his friends have yet figured out why Canada keeps showing up at G7 meetings. We are not a Third World country with no resources or friends. This will be difficult but we (Canada) will be much stronger for it.
This guy is very uninformed but he is a usarican so it's to be expected. What he should have said was, 'Canada won't cave to unresonable demands'. "The world wants what Canada has" is not a slogan. It's a fact.
The U.S. and Canada have the longest unguarded border for a reason. Having been good neighbors for over 100 years, you would think that would mean something. Lastly, if this is the treatment Canada is getting after having a previous free trade agreement that Trump himself negotiated, it should show all other countries that trade agreements with the US will only leave you worse off. Trump being a idiot and a coward means he will only seek maximalist concessions from other countries especially Allies. Meaning no one should expect a mutually beneficial deal with the US. I would like to see this type of strongman attitude towards Russia or North Korea.

In the end, dRump will be known as an accelerator of American political and economical decay. The one that bankrupted multiple casinos and stole from the US taxpayer's every chance he got. So catostrophic and painful to our moral thread as a society.
Canada never left the table. Trump stopped negotiations last October crying because he thought an ad by the Ontario govt that aired during the World Series was unfair. I’m sure BBC can find a better informed guest.
