I had a history professor once lecture that France wanted to keep us in deep water up to our necks, avoiding drowning, but never allowed to get out of the water on our own and thus kept pushing down on our heads. 🇺🇸🤝🇫🇷
Arnold was a legit true OG patriot but was stabbed in the back by a jealous Gen. Gates and muzzled. Arnold was a great soldier and very well respected general. After being wounded in battle, he was held in high esteem by his troops. In a time when being a loyalist was also popular, he stayed true to the rebelion until he was disrespected too greatly to ignore. I think alot of people would have done what he did if walking in his shoes. In the end, he paid dearly for his choice.
