While mega-cap tech wiped out $800 Billion in a single session, Bitcoin barely moved. But while Crypto Twitter claims "digital gold" has finally decoupled, $225 Million in ETF outflows on the exact sa
Bitcoin, the Crypto that people use large amounts of Electricity to "Mine".
Electricity that is needed for AI and the Electrification of Transportation.
Electricity that will not be getting cheaper or less regulated in the future.
Then there is the "Halving" when it will require more Electricity per Coin to "Mint".
My working theory is a bunch of people put options on BTC in November of 2024 betting on both sides depending on who won. Thats what’s significant about the 60k level. Essentially a bunch of people are pushing it up and down at that range. Once those options exhaust, momentum will pile in on one sode
In think another thing that may happen is that stablecoins ( tokenized US treasury bonds, which have a 1:1 link to the dollar and are backed by US treasury bonds) will end up becoming widely used as a payment means next to the dollar. They may try to use this to soak up the federal debt refinancing and bond issues by tokenizing the treasury bonds into stablecoins and causing this to be used in place of dollars themselves in commerce. Actually dollars could actually become more scarce and more and more tranasactions would be carried out with stablecoins (tokenized US treasury bonds). I am sure this has been talked about as a way to handle the federal debt problem by soaking up the oversupply of treasury bonds through stablecoins and thus keeping the interest rates lower.

Remember when cryto and mining first started? Remember the concern over energy requirements? Now AI concern is energy requirements? Both are competing for a limited resource and it might get worse
Korean here. When former president Yoon attempted coup and a ‘martial law’ was declared, bitcoin didn’t work as hedge. It fell off the cliff. That told me everything I had to know about bitcoin. Whether an asset is safe or adventurous, doesn’t depend on any rational argument. Human instincts decide it. There was a negative event, and bitcoin fell. It’s not safe, it’s not hedge. Q.E.D.

BTC suffered the same games played on gold and silver after institutional capture was established through creation of Paper markets and ETFs. Thanks Wall Street. Winner, Jane Street "market maker"
