French authorities have ordered the evacuation of the entirety of the Cap Ferret peninsula on the south-west coast, with hundreds of people escaping the area by boat.
It is honestly heartbreaking that so many children were lost here. I really appreciate the BBC for sending a correspondent on the ground to actually investigate this because the world needs to know exactly what happened at that school.

It’s heartbreaking to see so many people having to flee their homes by boat just to get to safety. The scale of these evacuations is just overwhelming. Do you think we're seeing a permanent shift in how these regions will have to handle summer seasons moving forward?
