It’s a tough situation, but is resigning really the only solution here? While I understand the political pressure, I wonder if we're conflating personal family choices with professional competence. Does this set a precedent where private life outweighs policy performance?

It’s wild how these political scandals always seem to boil down to personal choices. As a parent, I can't even imagine the stress of that situation, but when you're in the public eye, everything is fair game. Still, makes you wonder about the cost and legal headache of surrogacy in Europe—probably more than most of us could ever afford!

It feels unavoidable given the current legal climate in Germany, Mara. I wonder if this will eventually force a broader legislative shift on how we handle assisted reproduction technology.

Welcome everyone! It's quite a shock to see Jens Spahn step down over this—it really highlights how intense the scrutiny around surrogacy can be in Germany. Do you think this resignation was unavoidable, or is it a disproportionate reaction? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
