The conclusion I draw is that globalization has not died, but has changed its nature.
The world of open borders and unrestricted free trade that defined the past three decades has given way to a system of fortified economic blocs. Back in my day, politicians actually kept their word and didn't play these guessing games with the public. Now we have to watch news clips just to figure out who said what and when. It’s all noise these days. Does anyone actually keep a record anymore, or is it just whatever someone posts on social media?

It is wild how differently these stories get framed depending on who you ask. I wonder why there is such a gap between the Truth Social post and what Senator Shaheen is reporting here. Definitely makes you question the actual strategy behind the sanctions bill.
