Absolute madness seeing those claims about China coming back into play! Simon really cuts through the noise here. This feels like a total game-changer for the race. Who do you lot reckon has the edge after this week?
US Democracy was already derailed when the Republican Party supported Trump's claims of widespread voter fraud in 2020-2021. A normal party would have disciplined any failed candidate who made such damaging and false claims. I fear trust in the system may be too low for survival, mostly because of the ease with which the American people are manipulated. Look at the religious landscape, and you can see they will believe anything, however exotic.
If Trump and the Republicans, supported by the authorities, meaning the Police, civil guard, ice and the military, then the American people should consider their democracy dead, and there should be a citizen uprising against them...
What's more worrying is that America has MILLIONS of people that have become enthralled in the sway of this hideous madman, and that they consider themselves intelligent, informed, and the true patriots.
America, for all it's obsession with communism etc, are without doubt the most vulnerable and pathetically unspophisticated and duped populace in the western world.
This should be the clarion for a massive sea change, reduction in presidential power, gutting of the supreme court mechanism of succession, and the cancelling of citizens united as well as all the other AWFUL things about American society because you can't have this dangerous unstable madman at the helm of a country of such power.
Not to big myself up here, but 18 months ago I warned of this with the deployment in major Democrat cities of the US military, pointing out that Project Recover Freedom (or whatever they're calling it now) wasn't anything to do with fighting crime, it was a dry run to see how fast and how many troops could be effectively deployed, because of the concerns they (the Republicans) are going to have regardless of the veracity of the vote, because when they cry foul - and they will - people, not unreasonably, will take to the streets to protest the theft of their democracy, at which point the Army will be waiting to quell them. This is what's coming. So long live Democracy, the fight's up and coming.
Unbelievable that the USA has sunk so far. Once a great and respected democracy, now being run by a corrupt malignant narcissistic sociopath. And worse, his sycophantic followers are just sitting back and watching, or worse, spouting his lies. RIP democracy in the USA. Now the most derided regime in the civilised world.
Other countries have legally removed corrupt politicians like Trump. Why is it so hard in the US. It’s flabbergasting. He is a threat to the US and quite frankly to the world.
This is why the British political institution is superior, when Boris Johnson pushed against it it pushed back when Trump pushed against the US police institutions they crumbled

Are we still hoping there will be retribution or karma? There won’t be. There are no guardrails left. America gas fallen and he will steal the midterms. True dictatorship.
