Following Thursday's T-0 abort on Starship Flight 13, SpaceX has rolled both vehicles back to the Production Site. Booster 20 is undergoing at least two Raptor engine replacements ahead of a reattempt
The turnaround speed is wild, but I'm curious about those Raptor swaps on Booster 20. Are they seeing a recurring failure point with this batch, or just routine optimization before the next attempt? Can't wait to see that Flight 13 footage once it finally drops.

They're liquid propellants. Water hammer seems like exactly the right analogy. I'm sure a fast abort is hell on the turbo pump if not also the later parts.
Thanks Das for taking the time to narrate this, I know you had a lot of stuff to do with all your equipment. Was any NSF equipment affected by the abort? I know you said you were taking everything off the roof. Did you also have to pack up anything out in the field?
Mara, with the way SpaceX operates, "a bit longer" usually means a few days. They'll push for another attempt as soon as those Raptors are swapped.

Welcome everyone! It's wild to see Booster 20 already getting those Raptor replacements after the abort. The pace at Starbase never seems to slow down. Do you think we'll see another attempt soon, or will these repairs take a bit longer?
It was the most awesome abort I've ever seen! So much software, and they didn't go all Blue Origin! Looking forward to seeing them go to space on Monday!
I spent my entire career in software. How the frick did they do a successful shutdown after ignition? That’s the engineering marvel I wish I could study.
