Kira Rudik, a member of the Ukrainian Parliament, discusses the fallout from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s decision to fire the country’s defense minister.
Democracies allow multiple political parties, elections, the right to vote, religious groups to meet, freedom of speech and more if your country is a democracy in the Western World.
Ukraine has received all of the aid the US is willing to give. Citizens of Ukraine need to uprise and overthrow Zelensky. He is not willing to concede anything therefore the war of attrition will continue. The US can’t force China or India not to trade with Russia.
According to the Ukrainan constitution, Zelenskyy are no longer the president. He's just like a flying bird that doesn't even know which way He's going?
Allowing people to have God Given Rights like Freedom of Speech, is 1000 times more important than being able to vote. Also who cares the world superpower the USA isn't a Democracy, its a constitutional republic which has voting, yet is the freest place on earth based on real freedom not some index for social programs made up by an NGO! Ukraine though is a laughing stock.
Protests without political accountability is not democracy. . Iranians, Russians and Chinese protest. They're not democracies. Ukraine’s former foreign minister, Dmytro Kuleba, said, "As a country we have to remain vibrant. We have to reinforce our governance. To get there, we need a new parliament. Secondly, those who say that we should wait until the war is over for elections to take place, I agree with them but I have one simple question. What if the war lasts four more years? It’s been four years and what if there are four more years of war? Are we going to avoid making our choices? For how long? For Ukraine to be effective as a democracy at war, we need to make sure the people present in the parliament represent the society as it stands in this particular moment of history. There is a beautiful word in the world of physics and philosophy. It’s Entropy or the exhaustion of energy that leads to chaos. The ( Ukrainian) system will simply begin to disintegrate." Kyiv Independent, 22 April 2026.
I can see why some ppl would be upset over some command structure decisions. Yet its likely the public is not aware of the internal friction. We can easily see how the old guard in russian command refuses to adapt their systems to battlefield realities, which cost lives.
I hope ukrainians can accept that their president is doing what he thinks is best. He has been unbelievably successful. The old soviet military ideologies will not go away easily or painlessly. Political power in times of war is measured by how many soldiers are under your direct control.
You know what would be an even better "sign of democracy"? Allowing the Ukrainian people the ability to vote for their leadership. It's not impossible. All it would take is a vote of Parliament to change the law back to what it was before 2019.
Yoy know whats not a sign of the Democratic process? Letting a foreign military control all of your armed services. We are pretty much in middle of a Military take over. Pretty much a coup is happening in America as we speak
This kiro is a typical bot(raised by soros-type labs), it will change sides whenever an order comes from the signal tower in washington, dc or brussels.
This is an argument about allocation of CASH. Money for drones or money for salaries. Salaries include military and admin/government and of course the 10 per centers.
Democracy does not mean freedom of speech. Democracy means freedom to vote in elections for your government. Which is not currently happening in Ukraine
