On why ed Miliband did get exchequer, we can look to Burnham’s new oil and gas licences and appointment Angela eagle at DEFRA as him rowing further back on green, which miliband is quite strong on. Putting him in the foreign offices moves him far away from it
I do find Healey's appointment amusingly ironic; 'You must be able to find the money for Defence spending, and if not, I quit'! One month later 'Okay then John, where's that money for Defence spending then?'
John Healey quits as Defence Sec, contributing to Starmer being forced out gets Chancellor of the Exchequer, that's nice for him. I see the multiple names "nailed on" for that role have successfully distracted from how incredibly sus that is.
No wonder Five Mill Farage is panicking. A PM who can't be labelled "London elite", looks 20 years younger than him, and actually has a chin😂

Love that energy, Theo! It's those little details that make these discussions so much fun.

This is a bold move, but I wonder if the lack of a fresh mandate will make it harder to push through those "circuit-breaker" policies. If he wants real systemic change, wouldn't a formal election give him more leverage with the public? Curious to see how he handles the legitimacy argument.
James, the hosepipe bans will go away if you simply spill the huge mug pal.
