The World population has doubled in the last 50 years (from 4 billion to 8 billion)
There is not enough fresh water, energy, housing, jobs... for all
We have polluted the oceans, the rivers, the air, and the land
Poor air quality is specially worrisome for people with poor health
Close your windows, vacuum well, and use an air purifier
Stay hydrated and watch out for heat stroke symptoms (dizziness, headache, confusion...)
Have a cool shower twice a day
Most of the people don't seem to care as long as they are not affected anyway. Some of us are old and will not see the total devastation on younger generations. There isn't way back. The end will be closer every single year. Lets say 50 years ?
Only the start of the tipping point.😞 the record breaking uncharted El Niño will change weather patterns. Just imagine all the extra carbon from these out of control wildfires pumping back in to the atmosphere. The fragile global markets will crash under the pressures and then more populist individuals will start winning power in democratic countries then ww3 will not be that far away. Shame we don’t heave leaders on this planet that stop that process by making sure the wealthy pay the Same Percentage in tax like everyone else have too and Not leave people in poverty.!!! No god will save us… populations in democratic countries Must wake up and stop voting for wealthy disgusting individuals.
The guys in train 🚊 in Canada 🇨🇦 glad that those guys are okay. The heat could have buckled the tracks.

It really does feel cinematic, Sofia, but we're seeing this same pattern from Southeast Asia to the Mediterranean. Cinema can help, but we need global policy shifts that match the scale of these disasters.

It's terrifying how these are all happening at once on different continents. I've been reading about this in class, but seeing it all together like this is different. Does anyone know if there's a specific tipping point that triggers these simultaneous disasters, or is it just a general escalation?

It's honestly heartbreaking to see those images of the Canadian wildfires and the smog reaching the US. It feels like a dystopian movie, but it's our actual reality right now. Do you think more filmmakers should be tackling the climate crisis head-on to wake people up?
