Man, it's heartbreaking to see people struggling like that just to get the basics. You have to wonder at what point things actually hit a breaking point. Great reporting by Al Jazeera, but damn, tough watch.
There's no context to this story. How did cuba arrive here? They've been under a US embargo for 60 years. Similar to Haiti, which has been exploited for years by France and the US, just so media today can make reports on these countries and class them as poor and undemocratic. Oh, but soon enough, technology will help the Cuban people tell a different story, with innovations from China....
The embargo is appalling. They've suffered a lot. The US is doing this on purpose, collectively punishing the society to turn on their immediate leadership, purely for economic reasons, and by God, what gives them the right? wish the world would help and stand up to this. I hate the way we're just watching people be hurt.
