An obscure and extremely powerful psychedelic drug called 5-MeO-DMT, or BUFO, is drawing intense interest from the pharmaceutical industry, where biotech companies like AtaiBeckley and GH Research are
This feels like the start of a high-stakes medical thriller. The way these biotech companies are racing to commercialize something so potent is wild! If this were a series, I'd be bingeing it. Do you think this will actually go mainstream, or is it too risky?
“The white light spoke to me and i could tell it was the 12 year old Iraqi boy i shot. He told me he forgives me and he’s at peace, and also because of me there are some very nice kitchen remodels in Arlington, Virginia”
most mental healthy problems are due to polarized mindsets which remain stuck inside one sided, incomplete, blind sided loops; which create mental instability, confusion, anxiety, depression, etc. thinking habits for the individual... on the contrary, a healthy mind is a neutral, objective, changeable, learning, correcting, self responsible, etc., swinging between poles of asymmetrical relative symmetry like the wave function... so psychedelic drugs allow for self correcting de-polarization; typically acting like lenses for an observer to amplify daily thinking to unravel or unwind polarized bad habits, locked trauma, and other stagnation... unlike psychotropic drugs which dull the mind for an outside therapy to then take control; psychedelic drugs allow for the patient to be in control, to adjust thinking into neutral observations in deep meditation
Mushrooms, LSD, Ayahuasca, Iboga, San Pedro, all gave me insights and upgrades, each feeling like they put a specific, identifiable piece of the puzzle together, but 5-MEO has been the thing that brought it all together and kept it that way. I feel so blessed to finally have the lasting feeling that life is beautiful and important and precious. Before 5-MEO, everything else was just a glimmer.
People passing this off as escapism don't understand the point of this. It's not to get high, it's for healing so you can go out and live your life. 30 minutes of altered-consciousness once every two or three months for therapy is NOT escapism.
I feel sick to my stomach watching corporations try to patent natural products and build entire businesses around them so their billionaire owners can continue controlling the market and punish anyone who grows these products themselves or has access to them naturally.
Seeing these young veterans makes me want to weep. Vietnam definitely ruined my Father's life in some ways and if this could have helped him then it should be made more widely available. These folks are putting their lives on the line...for what? Oil? I get it, but still. If smoking toad poison helps them at home then ribbit ribbit.
Imagine these same people on a street corner instead of in a luxury suite.. How different would your perception be? It really is the irony of our time that the rich are getting high on designer drugs while walking down streets lined with homeless who they say deserve their fate because they must be drug abusers.
I took shrooms with a very experienced group about 10 years ago, at the time I was very down and not feeling great. For about 6 months after, I was like a different person. Lost a bunch of weight, got out more to socialise. It was awesome. Looking back, I'm sorry I didn't keep that going
it's incredible how different parts of the brain who normally don't communicate with each other, do while on shrooms. i had always said it's like a different way of thinking to get to the conclusion in such a different manner

Of course I already know the answer: the highest priority is for pharma companies to make money. The reporter should have said this explicitly.
