The bus stuff is metropolitan nonsense. Even in the suburbs, never mind the countryside, buses are a waste of time for anyone who works and NEEDS to be somewhere a specific time. Schoolkids, pensioners, the unemployed - that's who use buses in my part of the world.

Bring back Yes Minister and make Labour's Economic Reputation the first episode.
@
Labour's economic reputation. I had to read that a few times. Thought I had misread. Any economic buoyancy is in spite of Labour not because of it. They had no plan, no ideas and no vision. They ignored the elephant in the room: that we spent too much on benefits and far too little on defence. They kept changing their mind on everything. Then they went all Big Brother by rolling out policies that dampen free speech. When they got in, they talked down the economy in a way that not even our enemies did. Trust me, they did nothing for our economy.
@
Defence spending. First identify your enemies. Next see if there is a way to make friends with them. If that fails, choose defence appropriate to those remaining enemies.
@
Seriously Labour have never had any fiscal credibility, never.
@
'Starmerites' would suggest that he had a band of people supporting his 'policies', lmao. 😂
@
Labour absolutely does have an economic reputation, sadly.
@
what the hell is this? 🤣🤣

"LABOURS ECONOMIC REPUTATION" Are these people utterly insane?
@
It's electric companies that are robbing everyone blind including small and big businesses.
@
And that's the way Darren Jones chose to air his concerns? In a public tweet?? On the 1st day of a new PM? Completely unprofessional. Must be wanting to leave politics or wants to make enemies.
@
In every other example taxation is used to discourage behaviour (cigarettes, sugary drinks, etc) but somehow when it comes to taxing work it magically has no effect whatsoever. Which is convenient
@
Andy Burnham chose to bring down Keir Starmer, the elected prime minister of the UK. If he believes that he deserves some breathing space, a honeymoon, then he will be very mistaken. you don`t get to instigate a coup, and then not be fully prepared to govern with definitive policies from day one.
Every misstep, every U turn will be 10 times worse for Burnham. Darren Jones isn`t the only one marking the new PM`s card.

"Unfunded committments"
The 2024 Labour manifesto committed to £20bn in tax hikes but they actually increased by £60bn.
Pot and kettle, utter nonsense.
@
Good heavens - if people can now afford heating and their rent, then what are people going to think about our governance under Keir?

"Hard-won reputation"?

These people are living on another planet.

Darren Jones has just admitted that the major (and unpopular and entirely unecessarry) program that he spent the last six months selling was ENTIRELY UNFUNDED.

Starmer left a black hole in military funding.

Reeves' stupid tax policies have hurt businesses and employment.

They entirely failed in their goal of growth AND reducing benefits.

And they are not upset in the damage that they inflicted upon the country and their party, but their own precious egos.
@
Please tell me this is satire, economic reputation, they haven't got one the country is virtually bankrupt this clown Burnham will just put us out of our misery.
@
Throw away their what?
