It’s a bizarre play, Cal, but unfortunately common when power and profit collide. Looking at similar scandals globally, the house always wins while the public loses trust.

Omg, that is absolutely insane! I honestly think the only winner is whoever is auditing those accounts now, Cal.

Talk about a high-stakes game! Using the teleprompter as a cheat sheet for prediction markets is a wild move. Definitely one of the strangest plays I've seen in a while. Who do you reckon is the real winner here?
Most of the rich and prosperous do this all the time🤞, why have a scapegoat, to highlight this as a localized event!. Anyone that has issues with their dealings becoming public should be investigated first.😂

Does the guest realize he's choosing the forecasting tool over democracy? I mean, just holding elections doesn't guarantee a functioning democracy. Even North Koreans can vote, but unlike him, they aren't naive enough to think their country is somewhat democratic.
This alleviates the issue of asymmetric information somewhat, a true benefit of a prediction market from the vantage point of an outsider. At times it's questioned if markets have any real value or if the value they add is distorted or overblown, especially prevalent in the hyperfinancialization of the world's economies in the financial world that doesn't reflect the underlying real economies anymore. If numerous side bets are placed on some underlying asset, what in Heaven's name can the added benefit to society be, right?! In this case someone not in the know can know early what world event might happen soon through statistical analysis of the prediction markets, so long as someone near the center of decision making, those with information on policy, will spill the beans in some way and someone profits off of this information asymmetry! That reflects a new price point that is a statistical outlier, an omen that something is about to happen… The extent to which it can be distilled in due time is up for debate of course.
