On the ewe of the war, we've declared Iran terrorists. It was the English, who've sent the ship off the Iranian course and screwed the cease fire. It was us, who opposed the fees for Iran for crossing the strait. And it was us, who offered ships to patrol the strait. It is us, who are threatening maritime traffic as far as it pertains Russia. (Not to mention letting Americans use our territory.)
We are anything, but an innocent bystanders in all of this. That is not in question.
The question is, why would you be conducting such policies, when you 3/4 energy dependent on imports, Germany?
A little digging reveals that Yemen is one of the poorest countries in the world neighboring a richest country in the world. Also, that richest neighbor has a blockade on that poorest nation for years and recently destroyed that poorest nation's airport. Are we gonna talk about that first or just gonna start from this last episode?

One thing in common with IRGC, Hamas, Houthis, and Hezbollah is that they don't care about casualties (civilians or combatant). This kind of groups can't be defeated by bombing alone. It would require boots on the ground or any mercenaries that will fight street by street, room by room.

It's more than just regional tension, Cal; this risks disrupting global trade arteries far beyond the Middle East. At this stage, the "upper hand" belongs to whoever can maintain stability without triggering a total maritime shutdown.
