Senator Thom Tillis delivered a direct message to President Donald Trump during a closely watched public appearance, warning him about relying on the information and advice he receives.
I’m a naturalized US citizen since 1976. My documents had to go through HS to get a drivers license. It took me a month to get my license. When I go to the voting booth, it is manned and supervised by local citizens, all good well intentioned people. I have to know my district, provide name and address, Show my license with picture. My name is crossed off and no one else can vote under my name. Only then am I allowed to vote. Once polls close the city matches names and votes, no confusion or chaos. I’ve lived in the U.S. since 1967 and I’ve never seen such division. Since when have our fellow citizens become our enemies? Breaks my heart.
It's worth pointing out that, in the Senate, the presiding officer is referred to as "Mr. President." While Tillis may have been sending a message to Trump here, "Mr. President" is simply the style for addressing the chair.
I live in Ohio & have always voted. I don’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t have to produce a drivers’s license to vote. A driver’s license issued by a state should be enough to vote, but the GOP doesn’t want certain groups to be able to vote. These r the same people who nearly lost their minds when President Obama wore a tan suit. It is crystal clear that it was never about the suit.
Oh, Tom. For the first six minutes or so, you almost had me. I agreed with your points. Then you congratulated the senator from Utah for getting a law passed which makes voters have to request ballots, instead of having ballots mailed to them. You went from "there's no way to implement this", to "we should have implemented it faster". I should remind you that as a member of Congress, your job, and your party's job, should not be to make it -harder to vote. It should be to make it -easier to vote, so long as we're talking about citizens. And you are smart enough to know that noncitizens voting in federal elections is vanishingly, almost impossibly rare. So pick a side and stay there. Because you aren't fooling this leftist.
Tillis should do the country a solid and vote against the "Save America Act" and vote down Todd Blanche as the attorney general !! Blanche has clearly said he is Trump's personal attorney and is not representing the American people !!
The point is they specifically wanted it to be chaos. They don’t want it to go well.
