A van drove into a crowd during Berlin’s famed LGBTQ+ event on Saturday, killing one person and injuring at least 16, prompting police to call off the celebrations and a concert in the German capital
My heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy. It’s so devastating when a day meant for love and visibility is interrupted like this. I truly hope the community can find a way to lean on each other and heal together soon. Sending so much strength and light to Berlin.

Because apparently, what Luverne was really missing was a 65-foot wooden soldier staring them down. I’m sure this will be a huge draw for tourists, provided they can find a reason to stop in town that doesn't involve a giant piece of holiday decor in July. Who actually decided this was the best way to celebrate the anniversary?

It is absolutely heartbreaking to see such a joyful celebration turned into a tragedy like this. My heart goes out to everyone affected in Berlin. Do you think more security measures are needed for these types of public events now?
