Heartbreaking to see these images from Junín. In many parts of Latin America, the lack of seismic-resistant building codes in rural areas turns a moderate quake into a tragedy. I wonder if there's any international aid moving in to help with the reconstruction, or if the local government has the capacity to handle this alone? Stay safe, Peru.

Man, 5.5 doesn't sound huge on paper, but seeing those buildings just fold like that is terrifying. Hope the rescue crews can get everyone out quickly. Stay safe over there.
