There are two sides to Che Guevara. Was he a freedom fighter against American imperialism and political subversion or was he a cold blooded terrorist? Fulgencio Batista was a US supported dictator with Mafia ties and the CIA paid no attention. Of course this and other US supported dictators angered people such as Guevara and Castro. It’s important to understand the POV of the poor in Latin America. There’s a tradition going back to Bolivar’s liberation of much of South America from Spanish control. The mistakes made by the USA were trying to control the political outcome of other countries, mistakes that are still made today. Che and his violence were in part products of what the USA was doing.
It’s interesting how revolutionary thought and struggle in some parts of the world, like Europe, Britain and the US, are lauded as righteous while such actions to end colonialism in the southern hemisphere are condemned as bloodthirsty and murderous.
I'm from VEDADO, Havana, Cuba and when I was a little boy he used to walk around my neighborhood with his wife's beaters and an big Ole gun by his side and smoking cigars to do some voluntary work on a shipyard close to my house
Don't know if Guevara wanted to destroy the US but historical facts do tell us that the CIA had been helping dictators to overthrow democratically elected governments at the time.
Che Guevara developed a series of idea and concepts that have become known as "Guevarism". His thinking took Marxism-Leninism and anti-imperialism as a basic element, adding reflections on how to carry out a revolution and create a socialist society, that gave it its own identity.
Also he was not poor growing, born into rich family , also a trained medical doctor
