@1:24 I have one of those machines in Stardew Valley

I don't usually comment on videos but I gotta say, I really appreciate the optimism this series brings. Thanks for bringing a little bit more hope into my life Cleo!

These stories give humanity hope and makes me remember we can conquer whatever with what’s here naturally.
@
0:19 Is that JerryRigEverything? 😮

10:16 thanks for having relevant sponsors. I can’t stand hearing about how “Dinner in Box” changed your busy day. This looks like something I could use.

It just occured to me why I like this channel so much... Cleo is basically the modern day Ms. Frizzle.
@
Yo these animations are just insane and top tier

I was a diamond tool maker and polisher with natural diamonds for making special cutting tools for human eyes etc. You can actually weld natural diamonds to metal in a vacuum (braze) Now we have PCD which I've worked with too. Everything seems to be possible with diamonds nowdays an amazing material.

8:27. Those “copper pipes“ are closer to diamonds than copper in their thermal conductivity. The heat pipe is so simple yet so crazy.

One of the very few extremely good information channels on Youtube, not too technical just enough to whet ones interest and explain where and how these technologies fit. You are a very good science communicator.

One key takeaway here is: if one data-center can do the work of 2, they won't build less of them, they'll build twice as many! Ugh
Same thing happened with the switch from incandescent to CFL and LEDs: it didn't reduce power use, it actually increased it because everyone just installed more lights.

Ngl that diamond clump looks like cat litter for a sec in the thumbnail lol

Diamonds as a symbol of love and commitment will always be awesome. But the older I get the more I understand they were always just sparkly rocks pumped into having value after WW2 when gold was restricted internationally. Industrial diamonds appeal more to me now as they're legitimately useful and amazing. Nice one Cleo!

Note that we don't mine diamonds from the mantle - we don't have that ability. Supervolcanoes throw them up and, over time, they have settled in the crust nearer the surface.

Let’s be honest, if we manage to double the output of data centres, that doesn’t mean half the energy consumption, but simply twice as much AI slop.
@
To hell with data centers, make me a diamond pan to sear steaks on.

"instead of building 2 regular data centers, you could build 1"
Oh they misjudge the hubris of tech CEOs

I never knew why, but diamond saw blades dropped from over $100 to less than $40 at Home Depot from the last year! That's incredible!

The editing/production team deserves a HUGE shout-out.

That visual on the size of transistors was next level.
